What a certificate contains
Beviset brings together the details that make a certificate useful: who issued it, to whom, for what and when. Plus a unique ID and a way to the verification.
- IssuerWho issued the certificate. The design can vary from issuer to issuer.
- Certificate typeWhat the certificate documents. "Bevis for gennemførelse" is Danish for certificate of completion.

A good certificate has to be easy to find when an employer asks, or when the LinkedIn profile needs updating.

For whoever checks it
A PDF cannot tell you it has expired. The verification can.
The link or the QR code leads straight to the public verification. It shows who issued the certificate, which course it covers and what status it has right now.
Expired
The certificate is authentic, but the expiry date has passed. This can be relevant for courses that must be renewed.
Revoked
The issuer has revoked the certificate, for example because it was issued by mistake. It can be reactivated.
What the verification documents, and what it does not
The verification documents that the certificate is authentic, that it was issued by the stated issuer, and what status it has. It is not in itself an accreditation of the course or a guarantee of the recipient's skills.
Templates
A new design does not change certificates already issued
Certificates are based on versioned templates. When a template changes, new certificates get the new design. Certificates already issued keep the design they were issued with.

Certificates can be verified, even after you cancel
Certificates you have already issued can still be verified if you cancel your subscription. The verification still shows the current status, so a certificate that has expired or been revoked is shown that way.

Questions about the certificates
Can we issue many certificates at once?
Through the API, your system can issue certificates automatically as participants complete. Bulk issuing from a CSV file in the admin is in development and is not part of the product yet.
Can the certificates use our own design?
The certificates are based on templates, and the look can vary from issuer to issuer. The templates are versioned, so later design changes do not change certificates that have already been issued.
A simple branding editor, where you adjust logo, colours, typography and signatures yourself with a live preview, is in development. It is not part of the product yet. Tell us what you have in mind for the design, and we will work out how to set it up.
How does the recipient download and share the certificate?
The recipient can download the certificate as a high-quality PDF and as a PNG. With "Add to LinkedIn", the certificate details are filled in automatically, so it is easy to show it on a profile. The verification link can be sent directly to an employer.
Does Beviset send emails to recipients?
Email delivery with your own text and branding, delivery status and retries is in development. Until then, you can share the link to the certificate yourself or let your own system send it.
What does the verification show?
The verification page shows who issued the certificate, which course it covers, the relevant dates and the current status. People get there through the link or by scanning the QR code on the certificate.
Is a verification the same as an approval of the course?
No. The verification documents that the certificate is authentic, that it was issued by the stated issuer, and what status it has. It is not in itself an accreditation of the course or a guarantee of the recipient's skills.
Can a certificate expire or be revoked?
Yes. You can give a certificate an expiry date, revoke it and reactivate it. The verification always shows the current status, so whoever checks the certificate can see whether it is valid, expired or revoked.
Can the certificates still be verified if we cancel?
Yes. Certificates that have already been issued can still be verified after you cancel. The verification still shows the current status, so a certificate that has expired or been revoked is shown that way.
